Secondary One Artist Badge:)

Sorry for the late post sec ones. For this badge, you will need to draw based on the theme “My Favourite Activity from Guides” or “A Memorable Scene/Experience in Guides”. It's an individual work. You can draw anything relating to the theme (e.g. my first outdoor cooking, our cheering session, my patrol).

The artwork should be on A4 paper, the work should cover at least ¾ of the paper. It will be a coloured work which you draw out in pencil then colour with pastel pencil/colour pencil/paint with a little toning. The achromatic (in black, grey and white, not in colour) artwork should be drawn clearly and shaded well, which is recommended only for if you are better achromatic works and shading/toning. They can choose to refer to any photo taken during their activity, which they can check with the seniors if they have one.

Achromatic drawing: Charcoal Pencil/Soft Pencil (B/2B/4B), A4 size paper
OR
Coloured drawing: Soft Pencil (B/2B/4B), Pastel/Colour Pencil or Poster/Acrylic Paint, A4 size paper (drawing block or cardstock is recommended for painted work as it is thicker)

The submission deadline is 1 October 2011. Please write your name, patrol, class and theme chosen at the back of your work. Since it is A4 size, you can place your work in a clear holder to protect the artwork, painted works need to be dried before you slot it in. Please hand to Vivian AQM or Wan Ting AQM by deadline.

I know some of you'll find art difficult and tedious, but enjoy and not endure because we love art heh! If you refer to a photo, draw out all objects and details, no need for much shading, then your work looks vivid enough. Shading/toning is for a more pleasing composition. If you're confident, display your creativity in it, for example draw your own illustration like cartoon etc. It's up to you what kind of artwork you want to draw. Don't feel burdened or stressed and take it easy, have fun!:D
